09/02/2010 - 12:35:00

Detectives involved in raids targeting dissident republican and criminal activity in Cork have made a number of discoveries which are due to be investigated further.

It is understood that documents and other materials were seized from homes and business premises in the city this morning.

It follows threats from a vigilante group to kill more drug dealers.

The same group has claimed responsibility for the murder of 42-year-old Ger Stanton who was shot dead in Wilton last month.
