Recession 'improving Irish love lives'
09/02/2010 - 10:33:29

It seems the recession isn't all about the gloom - one third of people say it has improved their love lives.

Another 20% of the 650 people surveyed by RecruitIreland.com say they have now realised there is more to life than money, and they appreciate their partners more.

On the Valentine's Day wish list, material goods like jewellery and minibreaks have been largely replaced by thoughtful ideas like 'quality time' and 'having dinner cooked for them'.

There is more bad news for retailers however, with those who are planning to buy a gift saying they will spend less than in recent years.
