Report: Nearly one in four still smoking

A new report shows 50 young people take up smoking in Ireland every day, and nearly a quarter of the population are still smoking.

The figures are revealed in a study measuring the HSE's performance across a range of areas.

The continually high rate of new smokers is being blamed on the tobacco industry targetting young people.
