Benitez agent refuses to rule out Anfield exit
26/01/2010 - 07:34:23

Rafael Benitez's future at Liverpool remains uncertain with his agent refusing to rule out an Anfield departure.

The Reds' exit from the Champions League and FA Cup and their struggle to climb back into the top four have piled pressure on Benitez, who has "guaranteed" qualification for next season's Champions League as a minimum target for this campaign.

Reports in Italy suggest Juventus, who are on a poor run of form under Ciro Ferrara, might make a move for Benitez and the Spaniard's representative Manuel Garcia Quilon is leaving every option open at this stage.

Asked about an approach from Juventus on Italian website calciomercato.it, Garcia Quilon said: "It is not a correct hypothesis. I do not know what will happen in four or five months.

"In football everything changes quickly, but the basic principle is that he still has a four-year contract with Liverpool. He is an important figure at Anfield, an idol for the fans."

Liverpool will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run to four games at Wolves tonight and could even reclaim a place in the Premier League's top four if other results also go their way.
