Jerry Flannery confident of an Irish victory at Twickenham 26/02/2010 - 19:42:34
His own Six Nations fate is tied up in the competition's disciplinary procedures, but Ireland's Jerry Flannery believes his team mates are set to get back to winning ways this weekend in Twickenham.
The Munster hooker who found himself cited and suspended in the aftermath of the Irish defeat in Paris has to watch the match as a supporter while he remains sidelined.
Flannery believes widespread media criticism of the performance against France has been over the top and remains confident Ireland can turn things round this weekend.
As he awaits a ruling on whether he will have any further involvement in this year's tournament he is "keeping his head down, supporting his team mates and keep training hoping things will work out for the best".
One of the positives to be taken from the Stade de France was the way Ireland's set pieces worked and the Limerick native believes eradicating defensive errors and improving workrate will help ensure Ireland return to winning ways against the English and in contention for at the very least this year's Triple Crown.
